I'm back at work with a new daytime job at Panera Bread. I LOVE it! Not only does the brand have great food; each bakery cafe has an inviting ambience that is not only wonderful for customers, but also for Panera associates to boot. One of the company core values is " No jerks allowed". This saying means exactly as implied; you can't work for the Panera team and not be dedicated or unpleasant. No way, no how!
Wouldn't it be great if this no jerks concept was applied to every business, every playground, every government? The world would certainly be a much better place. To that end, I'm working on a idea for a fiber art piece of a new whole cloth quilt that will be much larger in scale than I'm accustomed to making about (72" around). It will feature our plant Earth with ink and thread painted smiling faces of children from all over the world. I've already named this work "Peaceable Kingdom". It's my hope that future generations won't replicate the jerky behavior of some world leaders today; but govern as shining examples of what our Creator had for us to be: brilliant, even tempered, peace keepers. It's true that cooler heads always prevail. Peace must be given a chance, now and always. Until next time...
